Water softener leaks from the brine tank or brine line connections

Safety: Bypass the softener and unplug it. Mop up spilled brine promptly to prevent corrosion.

• 1. Inspect brine tank: Look for visible cracks, especially near the bottom seam. If cracked, the tank must be replaced.
• 2. Check brine line fittings: Tighten compression or push-fit connections at the control valve and brine well. Replace any cracked ferrules or tubing.
• 3. Examine brine well: Remove the brine well cover and inspect for cracks or loose seals where it meets the tank bottom.
• 4. Correct overfill issues: If the tank is simply overfilled, correct the brine refill setting and ensure the safety float operates properly.
