Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate electrical power and close inlet/outlet valves. Depressurise the system before opening the valve body.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Confirm no water usage is being recorded: With the unit powered, open a tap and check if the display shows flow or volume counting. If not, proceed with inspection.
- 2. Inspect flow sensor cable: Locate the flow sensor/turbine connector on the control valve. Ensure the plug is fully seated and the cable is not pinched or damaged. Reseat the connector.
- 3. Remove and clean flow meter: Isolate and depressurise. Remove the flow meter cartridge or cover (usually on the outlet side of the Scalemaster valve). Carefully pull out the turbine wheel. Rinse under running water and remove any grit or scale. Ensure the turbine spins freely.
- 4. Check installation orientation: Confirm the flow meter is installed in the correct direction (arrow matching water flow). Incorrect orientation can cause E03.
- 5. Reassemble and test: Refit the turbine and cover, restore water and power, then run water at a tap. Confirm that the display now registers flow and that E03 clears.
If the error persists, the flow sensor electronics or main control board may be defective and should be tested or replaced by a qualified technician.
