Display shows E06 and the unit displays incorrect time or loses programming

Safety first: Turn off mains power before removing the electronic control panel cover.

Step-by-step checks:

• 1. Check power stability: Confirm the softener is connected to a stable power source. Avoid sharing with heavy loads (pumps, heaters) that cause voltage dips.
• 2. Inspect low-voltage connections: Remove the front cover and locate the transformer/low-voltage connector on the PCB. Ensure it is fully seated and free from corrosion.
• 3. Reset the controller: Power off for 2–3 minutes, then restore power. Re-enter the time, hardness, and regeneration settings as per the Scalemaster manual. Observe if settings are retained after a short power interruption.
• 4. Look for signs of damage: Visually inspect the PCB for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or water ingress. Any such signs indicate the board should be replaced.

If E06 or memory loss continues, the control board assembly will likely need replacement. This should be done by a qualified technician to ensure correct programming and safe operation.
