Possible Causes
Failed Scalemaster hardness probe, Sensor cable damaged or unplugged, Heavy scale or iron fouling on sensor tip, Incorrect sensor calibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power and water if removing any sensor from pressurised lines.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Inspect sensor cable: Trace the cable from the hardness sensor to the control board. Ensure it is intact and firmly connected.
- 2. Clean sensor tip: If accessible, remove the sensor from its port (after depressurising) and gently clean the tip with a soft cloth and mild descaler. Rinse thoroughly.
- 3. Recalibrate (if supported): Follow the Scalemaster manual to run a sensor calibration routine, using a known soft water sample.
If E13 persists, the sensor or PCB input may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
