Possible Causes
Blocked refill restrictor in Scalemaster control valve, Stuck brine refill valve, Kinked brine refill line, Incorrect brine level sensor reading
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and isolate water before opening the valve or brine connections.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Check brine tank water level after regeneration: The water level should rise to a predictable height. If no water is added, suspect a blocked refill circuit.
- 2. Inspect refill line: Follow the small tube from the valve to the brine well. Straighten any kinks and ensure connections are tight.
- 3. Clean refill restrictor: Remove the refill orifice/restrictor from the valve (refer to manual). Soak in vinegar or descaler to remove scale, then rinse and reinstall.
If E14 continues, the internal refill valve or control board timing may be faulty and require professional service.
