Possible Causes
Loose compression fittings on Scalemaster inlet/outlet, Perished O-rings on push-fit connectors, Cracked bypass valve body, Leaking flexible hoses
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and close inlet and outlet valves immediately. Water leaks can cause electrical hazards and property damage.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Dry and inspect: Wipe down all visible pipework and joints. Then slowly reopen the inlet valve and watch for fresh drips.
- 2. Tighten fittings: Gently tighten any weeping compression nuts. Do not overtighten plastic fittings.
- 3. Check hoses: Inspect flexible hoses for bulges, cracks, or corrosion at the ends. Replace if any damage is found.
- 4. Inspect bypass valve: Look for hairline cracks or leaks around the bypass body and O-ring joints.
If the leak source is internal to the control valve or resin tank, contact a Scalemaster technician.
