Possible Causes
High humidity environment, Use of low-quality salt, Infrequent salt usage, Overfilling brine tank
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Wear gloves and eye protection. Do not use excessive force that could damage the brine tank.
Steps to clear a salt bridge:
- 1. Probe the salt: Insert a broom handle or plastic rod straight down into the salt. If you hit a hard layer with empty space beneath, a bridge is present.
- 2. Break the bridge: Gently push and tap to break the crust, allowing it to collapse into the water below.
- 3. Remove excess salt: Scoop out loose salt chunks so the tank is no more than 2/3 full.
- 4. Refill with quality salt: Use high-purity solar or pellet salt recommended by SpringWell to reduce future bridging.
- 5. Run a regeneration: Initiate a manual regen to ensure proper brine draw after clearing the bridge.
