Possible Causes
Clogged brine fill port in SpringWell control valve, Stuck or failed brine valve assembly, Kinked or blocked brine line, Defective control valve not shifting to brine fill position
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Place the softener in bypass and unplug power. Wear gloves and eye protection when working around salt and brine.
Steps to address E06 (Brine Fill Fault):
- 1. Check brine level: Confirm that the brine tank is not already overfilled. If it is empty and should be filling, proceed with checks.
- 2. Inspect brine line: Follow the brine line from the control head to the brine tank. Ensure it is not kinked, crushed, or blocked. Remove the line at the control head and blow through it to confirm it is clear.
- 3. Clean brine port and injector: Remove the injector and brine port assembly from the SpringWell control valve (refer to the manual). Soak in vinegar or a manufacturer-approved cleaner to remove iron and scale. Rinse thoroughly and reinstall.
- 4. Test brine fill: Take the unit out of bypass, restore power, and manually start a regeneration. Observe whether water now enters the brine tank during the brine fill stage.
- 5. Replace brine valve assembly: If no water enters the brine tank and the injector is clean, the internal brine valve or piston may be defective. Replace the SpringWell brine valve / injector assembly or the entire SpringWell control valve head if individual parts are not available.
