SpringWell
Residual Brine in Service Water
Water has a salty taste after the SpringWell softener regenerates.

Possible Causes
Insufficient rinse time programmed, High salt dose relative to rinse, Brine valve not closing fully, Drain line restriction reducing rinse flow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not drink water that tastes strongly of salt until the issue is resolved.
Steps to eliminate salty taste:
- 1. Increase rinse time: In the programming menu, increase the rapid rinse duration per SpringWell recommendations for your tank size.
- 2. Check drain line: Ensure the drain line is not restricted or kinked, allowing full rinse flow.
- 3. Inspect brine valve: Rebuild or replace the SpringWell brine valve / injector assembly if it is leaking brine into service after regeneration.
- 4. Adjust salt dose: Reduce the salt setting to a level appropriate for your hardness and capacity, following SpringWell's sizing chart.
