Softener regenerates too often, sometimes daily, even with low water usage

Steps:

• Check programming: Verify hardness and capacity settings against actual water hardness and resin volume.
• Check for leaks: With all taps closed, see if the display shows flow. If so, investigate for leaks or running toilets.
• Test flow meter: Compare displayed usage with actual meter readings over a day. If the softener records much higher usage, the flow meter may be faulty and should be replaced.
