Display shows E3 and the compressor does not start, or starts then stops quickly; fan may still run.

Safety warning: High voltage present. Unplug the Auseo wine cooler and allow several minutes for capacitors to discharge before working in the compressor compartment.

Diagnostic steps:

• Access compressor area: Remove the rear lower service panel to expose the compressor, start relay, and main control board.
• Inspect wiring and relay: Look for burnt marks, melted plastic, or loose spade connectors on the compressor start relay and overload protector.
• Check relay: Remove the start relay/PTC from the compressor. Gently shake it; if it rattles excessively or smells burnt, it is likely defective.
• Test compressor windings: With the relay removed and unit unplugged, measure resistance between the three compressor pins. You should see finite resistance between each pair and no short to ground. If windings are open or shorted, the compressor is faulty.
• Replace start device: If the compressor tests good, install a new compressor start relay and overload assembly specified for your Auseo model.
• Reconnect and test: Reconnect wiring, reinstall the rear panel, plug in the unit, and observe if the compressor starts without E3 reappearing.

Important: If the compressor is electrically defective or draws excessive current, replacement requires a licensed refrigeration technician.
