Possible Causes
Open defrost heater, Failed defrost sensor, Faulty defrost control on main PCB, Door gasket leaking warm air
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before defrosting or accessing the evaporator.
Steps:
- Manual defrost: Remove all bottles, unplug the unit, and leave the door open until all ice melts. Do not use sharp tools to chip ice.
- Inspect door gasket: Check for gaps or tears that allow moist air in. Replace the door gasket if it does not seal properly.
- Test defrost heater and sensor: After ice is cleared and panels removed, measure resistance of the defrost heater and defrost NTC sensor. Replace any open or shorted components.
- Check control board: If heater and sensor are good, the defrost control circuit on the main PCB may be defective and require replacement.
Note: Regularly ensure the door is fully closed to minimize frost buildup.
