Possible Causes
Shorted NTC temperature sensor, Stuck compressor relay on control board, Miscalibrated thermostat circuit, Shorted wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before testing sensors or removing the control board.
Steps:
- Verify display: Compare the displayed temperature with an accurate thermometer inside the cabinet. If the display is much higher than actual, the sensor may be faulty.
- Test cabinet sensor: Remove and measure resistance of the cabinet NTC temperature sensor. If it reads near 0 Ω or does not change with temperature, replace it.
- Inspect control relay: On the main PCB, check the compressor relay for signs of welding or burning. A stuck relay will keep the compressor running.
- Replace control board: If the sensor is good but the compressor never shuts off, replace the main control board.
Temporary measure: Until repaired, unplug the cooler periodically to prevent overchilling valuable wine.
