Possible Causes
Misaligned door magnet or reed switch, Failed door switch, Loose door switch wiring, Warped door gasket preventing full closure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: While this is a low-voltage circuit, unplug the unit before removing any panels.
- Check door closure: Ensure shelves or bottles are not preventing the door from closing fully. Inspect the gasket for debris or damage.
- Test the door switch: Locate the door switch (often at the top or side of the cabinet opening). Press it manually and see if the alarm stops (with power on). If the alarm continues, the switch or sensor may be faulty.
- Inspect magnet/sensor alignment: Some Avanti models use a magnetic reed switch. Verify that the magnet in the door aligns with the sensor in the frame. Adjust the door or sensor position if necessary.
- Check wiring: With power off, inspect the switch wiring for loose connections or damage.
- Replace the switch: Install an OEM Avanti door switch or reed sensor if it fails continuity testing or does not respond when pressed.
- Verify gasket seal: Close the door on a strip of paper at several points around the perimeter. If the paper pulls out easily, the gasket may need adjustment or replacement.
