Display shows E5 and compressor or cooling module does not start.

Safety: Unplug the wine cooler. Work only on a cool, stable unit. Do not attempt sealed system repairs without proper training.

• Listen for compressor attempts: When powered, a clicking sound every few minutes with no sustained compressor hum suggests a start relay or overload issue.
• Access the compressor compartment: Remove the rear lower panel to expose the compressor, start relay, and overload protector.
• Inspect components: Check the plastic start relay and overload device mounted on the compressor terminals for signs of burning, cracking, or melting.
• Test the start relay and overload: With the unit unplugged, remove the relay/overload assembly and shake it gently. A rattling sound can indicate a failed relay. Use a multimeter to check continuity through the overload and relay according to the wiring diagram.
• Replace suspect parts: Install an OEM Avanti compressor start relay and overload protector matched to your compressor model. Ensure they are firmly seated on the compressor pins.
• Check control board output: If the compressor never receives power (verify carefully with a qualified person and proper tools), the compressor relay on the main control board may be defective and the board may need replacement.
• Compressor condition: If new start components do not start the compressor and it draws very high current or trips protection, the compressor may be locked and require professional sealed system service or replacement of the cooler.
