Possible Causes
Blocked condenser airflow, Failed condenser fan motor, Dirty condenser coils, Overheating Peltier (thermoelectric) module or heat sink, Faulty high-temperature sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Allow hot components to cool before touching.
- Check installation clearance: Ensure the wine cooler has adequate space around the sides, back, and top as specified in the Avanti manual. Poor ventilation can trigger overheat faults.
- Clean condenser coils: Remove the rear lower panel. Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove dust and lint from the condenser coils and surrounding area.
- Inspect condenser fan (compressor models): Verify the fan spins freely and is not obstructed. If the fan does not run when the compressor is on (after reapplying power), test and replace the condenser fan motor as needed.
- Check Peltier heat sink (thermoelectric models): Inspect the aluminum heat sink and fan on the hot side of the Peltier module. Clean dust from fins and ensure the fan operates when cooling is active.
- Verify high-temp sensor: Some models use a sensor attached to the condenser or heat sink. Inspect its wiring and mounting. A loose sensor can misread temperature and cause false E8 errors.
- Replace failed parts: Install an OEM Avanti condenser fan motor or Peltier fan as required. If the Peltier module is cracked or discolored, it may need replacement.
- Control board check: If airflow is good and sensors are intact but E8 persists, the control board's overheat detection circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
