Possible Causes
Shorted compressor windings, Damaged power cord, Water intrusion into electrical components, Shorted fan motor or Peltier module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not repeatedly reset a breaker that trips. Unplug the cooler and investigate before re-energizing.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, crushed sections, or exposed wires. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Check for moisture: Look inside and behind the unit for signs of water leaks onto electrical parts. Dry thoroughly and correct any leaks.
- Isolate components (advanced): With the unit unplugged, disconnect fan motors, Peltier module, or compressor start components one at a time and test to identify which component causes tripping when reconnected. This should be done by a qualified person.
- Replace shorted parts: Install OEM Avanti replacement parts for any motor, Peltier module, or compressor assembly found to be shorted.
- Professional service: If the compressor windings are shorted to ground, the compressor and sealed system require professional replacement.
