Possible Causes
Thermistor not properly located, Oversensitive thermostat, Control board hysteresis settings, Unit installed in very hot or cold environment
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooler before adjusting sensor placement.
- Check installation environment: Ensure the cooler is not placed near ovens, heating vents, or in unheated garages where ambient temperature is outside Avanti's specified range.
- Verify door seal: A leaking door gasket can cause frequent cycling. Inspect and replace if necessary.
- Inspect thermistor placement: Ensure the cabinet thermistor is in free air, not touching the evaporator or walls, and not directly in the cold air stream.
- Adjust setpoint: Set the temperature slightly higher to reduce cycling and observe performance.
- Replace thermostat or sensor: If cycling remains excessive, replace the cabinet thermistor or mechanical thermostat with an OEM Avanti part.
- Control board: In rare cases, the control board's temperature control algorithm may malfunction, requiring board replacement.
