Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Obstructed fan blades by ice or debris, Loose fan wiring connector, Faulty main control board fan driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working near the fan or evaporator.
- Listen for fan operation: With the door closed and unit powered (before unplugging), listen for the evaporator fan. If silent when compressor is running, suspect a fan issue.
- Access fan assembly: Remove interior shelves and the rear inner panel to expose the evaporator and fan housing.
- Check for obstructions: Look for ice buildup around the fan, loose wiring, or foreign objects. Carefully clear any ice with warm (not hot) water and a cloth—do not use sharp tools.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the fan motor connector is fully seated and wires are not damaged.
- Test fan motor: With the fan disconnected, measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. If you have a safe low-voltage test source (per manufacturer specs), you can bench-test the fan.
- Replace fan motor: If defective, install a new Beko evaporator fan motor. Reassemble the housing and ensure the blades spin freely.
- Control board check: If the fan tests good but does not receive power when it should, the main PCB fan output may be faulty and require replacement.
