Possible Causes
Open or shorted upper cabinet NTC sensor, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Loose sensor connector at control board, Sensor probe pulled out of its mounting clip
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.
Steps to diagnose and fix:
- Locate the upper sensor: In BODEGA dual-zone wine coolers, the upper zone NTC sensor is usually mounted on the back wall or side wall of the upper compartment, often behind a small plastic cover or clipped to the evaporator cover.
- Visual inspection: Remove any shelves blocking access. Check that the sensor probe is intact, not cut or pinched, and firmly clipped in place. Ensure the wire is not damaged by bottles or shelf edges.
- Check connections: Trace the sensor wire to where it exits the cabinet and connects to the main control board. Remove the rear panel, locate the sensor connector on the PCB, and reseat it firmly.
- Test the sensor: With a multimeter set to resistance (ohms), disconnect the sensor from the board and measure its resistance at room temperature. Typical NTC sensors used in BODEGA wine coolers read around 5–10 kΩ at 25°C (77°F). A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a bad sensor.
- Replace the sensor: If the sensor is out of spec, replace it with a compatible BODEGA upper zone NTC temperature sensor. Route the new sensor along the original path and secure it with clips or tape to avoid contact with moving parts or sharp edges.
When to call a professional: If you cannot access the sensor wiring or are unsure about resistance measurements, seek professional service.
