Possible Causes

Blocked condenser airflow, Failed condenser fan motor, Extremely high ambient temperature, Overheating compressor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool if the compressor area feels very hot.

Steps to diagnose and fix:

  • Improve ventilation: Ensure the wine cooler has the recommended clearance on all sides and is not built into a tight cabinet unless it is a built-in model with front ventilation.
  • Clean condenser: Remove the rear panel and clean dust from the condenser coil and fan using a brush and vacuum.
  • Verify condenser fan operation: With the unit powered, confirm the condenser fan runs whenever the compressor is on. Replace the fan motor if it does not run (see E7).
  • Check ambient temperature: Move the unit to a cooler location if room temperature exceeds the manufacturer's specified maximum.

When to call a professional: If F1 recurs despite proper airflow and fan operation, the compressor may be failing or the control board may be misreading temperature; professional diagnosis is recommended.
