Possible Causes
Defective magnetic reed door switch, Misaligned door magnet, Broken door switch wiring, Faulty door input circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before working around the door frame wiring.
- Check door operation: Open and close the door while observing the interior light. If the light does not change state reliably, suspect the door switch.
- Locate door sensor: On many Candy wine coolers, a magnetic reed switch is hidden in the cabinet frame, with a magnet in the door gasket area.
- Test magnet alignment: Ensure the door closes fully and the magnet lines up with the switch area. Adjust door hinges if sagging.
- Test switch (advanced): Remove the inner trim to access the switch. With the unit unplugged, disconnect the switch and test continuity while placing a magnet near it. Replace if it does not open/close correctly.
- Inspect wiring: Check for pinched or broken wires around the hinge area.
- Replace parts: Fit a new "Door reed switch" or "Door magnet" as needed. If the switch and wiring are good, the door input on the "Main control board (PCB)" may be defective and require replacement.
