Possible Causes

Failed NTC sensor in upper or lower zone, Wiring harness issue specific to one zone, Faulty dual-zone control circuitry on PCB, Damaged damper or air channel (if shared system)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before opening internal panels.

  • Identify affected zone: Determine whether the upper or lower compartment is not cooling correctly.
  • Locate zone sensor: Each zone typically has its own NTC sensor on the rear liner or evaporator cover. Remove the appropriate internal panel.
  • Inspect and test sensor: Check for physical damage and measure resistance. Compare with the sensor from the working zone if they are the same type.
  • Swap sensors (diagnostic): On some models, you can temporarily swap the two zone sensors. If the error moves to the other zone, the sensor is faulty.
  • Replace faulty sensor: Install a new "Zone NTC temperature sensor" for the affected compartment.
  • If sensors are OK: The dual-zone control section of the "Main control board (PCB)" may be defective. Replace the PCB.
