Possible Causes

Failed ambient NTC sensor, Sensor not correctly positioned near air intake, Wiring harness damage between sensor and PCB, Faulty main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect mains power before opening any covers.

  • Locate ambient sensor: On many Candy wine coolers, the ambient NTC is near the front grille or air intake, or behind the control panel.
  • Visual inspection: Check that the sensor is not broken, crushed, or hanging loose. Ensure it is not touching hot components like the compressor or condenser.
  • Check wiring and connectors: Follow the sensor wires to the PCB. Reseat the connector and inspect for corrosion or loose pins.
  • Resistance test: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. Compare to expected NTC values or to another known-good sensor if available.
  • Replace sensor if faulty: Fit a new "Candy ambient NTC sensor" and secure it in the original location.
  • If sensor is OK: Suspect a PCB fault. Replace the "Main control board (PCB)" if no wiring issues are present.
