How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Before assuming an internal fault, verify the outlet. Do not open the unit while it is plugged in.
Steps:
- Outlet test: Plug another device into the same outlet to confirm power. Reset any tripped breakers or GFCI outlets.
- Inspect power cord: Check the Cavin cord for visible damage. If damaged, replace the cord rather than attempting to repair it.
- Internal fuse: With the unit unplugged, remove the rear panel and look for an AC filter or small board where the power cord connects. Check for a replaceable fuse. If blown, investigate for shorts before replacing.
Repair: Replace a blown fuse only with the same rating if no obvious short is found. If the fuse blows again or the AC filter board is burnt, replace the AC filter/power board or main control board as appropriate.
