Door not closing properly or popping open slightly after being shut

Safety first: No electrical work is required; unplug only if you will remove the door.

Steps:

• Level the cabinet: Adjust the front leveling feet so the unit leans slightly back. This helps the door close by gravity.
• Inspect gasket: Look for twisted or compressed sections of the door gasket. Warm the gasket gently with a hair dryer and reshape it by hand to improve sealing.
• Check hinges: Tighten hinge screws at the top and bottom of the door. Ensure the door is not sagging.
• Reduce door load: Remove heavy items from the door racks that may be pulling the door out of alignment.

Repair: Replace a severely damaged or hardened door gasket. If hinges are bent or worn, replace the hinge kit specific to your Cavin model.
