Possible Causes

Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice buildup blocking fan blades, Loose fan connector at main PCB, Faulty fan driver circuit on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the wine cooler. Beware of sharp metal edges and ice.

Steps:

  • Listen for fan: With the door closed and unit powered (before unplugging), listen at the back wall for fan noise. If silent when the compressor is running, suspect the fan.
  • Access fan: Remove shelves and the inner rear panel of the affected compartment to expose the evaporator and fan assembly.
  • Check for ice obstruction: If the fan blades are encased in ice, allow the unit to fully defrost (doors open, towels in place) for several hours. Do not chip ice with sharp tools.
  • Spin test: With power off, try spinning the fan blades by hand. They should move freely. Stiff or seized movement indicates a bad motor.
  • Electrical check: Inspect the fan wiring and connector. Reseat the connector at the fan and at the main PCB. Look for burnt or discolored pins.

Fix: If the fan is seized or does not run even after defrosting and reseating connectors, replace the evaporator fan motor assembly specific to your Cavin model. Ensure the fan shroud and wiring are reinstalled correctly to maintain proper airflow.
