Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the wine cooler. The compressor and related components can be hot; allow them to cool before touching.
Steps:
- Check ventilation: Ensure the rear and sides of the cooler have adequate clearance and that the condenser grille is not blocked. Poor airflow can cause overheating and overload trips.
- Access compressor compartment: Remove the rear lower panel to expose the compressor, start relay, and overload protector.
- Inspect start device: The start relay/overload assembly is usually a small module clipped to the side of the compressor. Remove it carefully and inspect for burn marks, rattling pieces inside, or melted plastic.
- Shake test: Gently shake the relay; if it rattles, it is often failed and should be replaced.
- Check wiring: Verify that all wires to the compressor and start device are firmly connected and not burnt.
Repair: Replace the compressor start relay/overload assembly with the correct Cavin-compatible part if it shows signs of failure. If the new start device does not resolve E6, the compressor or main control board may be faulty and professional diagnosis is recommended.
