Possible Causes

Out-of-range cabinet sensor, Firmware calibration error, Loose sensor connection, Main PCB analog-to-digital converter fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.

Steps:

  • Verify actual temperature: Place a reliable thermometer in the compartment and compare to the set and displayed temperatures.
  • Sensor connection check: Access the main PCB and reseat all temperature sensor connectors (upper, lower, ambient). Ensure they are in the correct sockets.
  • Inspect sensors: Check that each sensor probe is properly mounted and not dangling or pressed directly against the evaporator.
  • Factory reset (if available): Some Cavin models allow a control reset via a button combination (consult the user manual). Perform a reset to clear calibration errors.

Repair: If E8 persists and sensor wiring is intact, the main control board may have a calibration or ADC fault and will need replacement. Replace any sensor that tests out of normal resistance range for the measured temperature.
