• Verify sensor placement: Ensure the cabinet sensor is not touching the evaporator coil or directly in the airflow from the fan, which can cause rapid swings.
• Check connections: Reseat the sensor connectors at the main PCB.
• Compare with thermometer: Use a separate thermometer to monitor actual temperature over several hours and compare to the display.

Repair: Replace a sensor that shows erratic resistance changes or poor correlation with actual temperature. If fluctuations persist, the main control board may be cycling the compressor improperly and require replacement.
