Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Cavin wine cooler before removing the rear panel. Sealed system work involves refrigerant and should only be done by certified technicians.
User-level checks:
- Listen for compressor: Plug the unit in and listen at the back. If you hear only a click every few minutes and no steady hum, the compressor may not be starting.
- Condenser temperature: Carefully feel the condenser grille or tubing after 10–15 minutes of operation. If it remains completely at room temperature, the compressor is likely not running or there is no refrigerant.
- Start device inspection: With power disconnected, remove the rear lower panel and inspect the compressor start relay/overload for burn marks or rattling (see E6 procedure).
When to call a professional: If the compressor runs but there is no cooling, or if you suspect a refrigerant leak or internal blockage, contact a qualified refrigeration technician. Do not attempt to open the sealed system yourself.
