Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Obstructed fan blades by ice or debris, Loose or damaged fan wiring harness, Faulty fan driver circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before accessing the fan. Fan blades can be sharp.
- Access the fan: Remove shelves and the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator fan assembly.
- Check for obstructions: Inspect the fan blades for ice buildup, labels, or wiring contacting the blades. Clear any obstructions and ensure the blades spin freely by hand.
- Inspect wiring: Verify the fan motor connector is fully seated and wires are not pinched or broken. Reseat the connector to the harness.
- Test the fan motor: With the unit unplugged, measure resistance across the fan motor leads. An open circuit indicates a failed CELLA evaporator fan motor. If you have a suitable low-voltage DC source (for DC fans), briefly power the fan to confirm operation.
- Replace fan: Remove mounting screws, swap in a new evaporator fan motor assembly, and ensure the fan is centered in the shroud.
- Control board check: If a new fan does not run and E4 remains, the fan driver on the CELLA main control board may be defective and require replacement.
