Possible Causes

Failed compressor start relay, Open overload protector, Defective main control board compressor relay, Open wiring to compressor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the CELLA wine cooler before accessing the compressor compartment.

  • Listen for compressor: When powered, the compressor should hum quietly. If it is silent and fans run, suspect the start circuit or control board.
  • Access compressor: Remove the rear lower panel to expose the compressor and its start components.
  • Inspect start relay and overload: Remove the control box from the compressor terminals. Look for burnt or cracked parts. Replace the compressor start relay and overload protector if damaged or if they fail continuity tests.
  • Check wiring: Verify all wires to the compressor and from the main board are secure and not burned.
  • Control board relay: If start components and wiring are good but the compressor never receives power, the compressor relay on the main control board may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
