Possible Causes
High ambient humidity, Door gasket not sealing, Door heater (if equipped) not operating, Frequent door openings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before inspecting door wiring or heaters.
Steps:
- Check environment: High humidity rooms will naturally cause more condensation. Use a dehumidifier if possible.
- Inspect gasket seal: Ensure the door gasket is sealing all around. Replace if damaged.
- Door heater (if present): Some EdgeStar models have a low-wattage heater around the door frame. Verify wiring is intact and that the heater receives power when the unit is operating. Replace the door heater strip if open.
- Reduce door openings: Limit how often and how long the door is opened, especially in humid conditions.
Note: Light condensation can be normal in very humid environments, but heavy or persistent moisture indicates a sealing or heater issue.
