Possible Causes
Door left open or not sealing, Failed compressor, Refrigerant leak in sealed system, Evaporator fan not running, Blocked condenser coil
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing panels. Do not puncture any refrigerant lines.
Steps to respond to H1:
- Check the door: Ensure the door is fully closing and the gasket is intact. Look for racks or bottles preventing closure.
- Inspect door gasket: Run a thin strip of paper around the door seal; if it pulls out easily in spots, the gasket may be leaking. Adjust door hinges or replace the gasket as needed.
- Verify cooling system operation: With the unit running (briefly plug in), check if the compressor and condenser fan are operating and if the evaporator coil gets cold after 10–15 minutes.
- Clean condenser coil: Remove dust and debris from the condenser to improve heat rejection.
- Check evaporator fan: Ensure the interior fan is running and circulating air. Replace the evaporator fan motor if it is not operating.
- Monitor temperature: After corrections, allow several hours for the temperature to drop. If the compressor runs continuously but the cabinet does not cool, a sealed system issue (e.g., refrigerant leak) is likely and requires a professional.
Warning: Do not attempt to recharge refrigerant or open the sealed system yourself; this must be done by a licensed technician.
