Possible Causes

Cabinet thermistor misreading low, Control board not cycling compressor off, Thermistor touching evaporator, Stuck compressor relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before accessing sensors or the control board.

Steps to respond to L1:

  • Verify actual temperature: Place an accurate thermometer inside the cooler to confirm the real temperature versus the display.
  • Adjust setpoint: Raise the set temperature to a mid-range wine storage value (e.g., 55°F) and observe if the compressor cycles off.
  • Inspect cabinet thermistor: Ensure the sensor is properly mounted away from the evaporator and not buried behind bottles or shelves that could create cold spots.
  • Test the thermistor: With power off, measure resistance and compare to expected values. Replace if readings are incorrect.
  • Check control board relay: If the compressor continues running even when the setpoint is reached, the compressor relay on the control board may be stuck. Replace the main control board if necessary.

Note: Prolonged low temperatures can damage wine. Address L1 conditions promptly.
