Possible Causes
Normal minimum setpoint limit reached, Faulty thermistor reading below display range, Control board calibration issue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No immediate hazard. If you open the cabinet or access wiring, unplug the unit first.
Steps:
- Understand the limit: Many EdgeStar wine coolers will display Lo when you attempt to set a temperature below the designed minimum (e.g., 40°F). This is normal behavior.
- Verify actual temperature: Place a thermometer inside. If the interior is much colder than expected (e.g., near freezing), there may be a sensor or control issue.
- Inspect and test thermistor: If the unit is overcooling, follow the thermistor testing steps from the E0/E9 procedures and replace if faulty.
- Control board check: If the sensor is good but the display still shows Lo with abnormal cooling, the control board may be miscalibrated and require replacement.
Note: If temperatures are normal and only the display shows Lo at the minimum setting, no repair is necessary.
