Possible Causes
Failed LED light module, Faulty door switch or reed sensor, Loose light wiring connector, Control board light driver failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing light covers or accessing wiring.
Steps:
- Check light settings: Some EdgeStar models allow the light to be turned off via the control panel. Ensure it is not disabled.
- Inspect door switch: If your model uses a mechanical switch, press it manually and see if the light flickers. For magnetic reed switches, move a magnet near the sensor area to test.
- Access the light module: Remove the interior light lens or cover. Check the LED module and wiring connector for damage or looseness.
- Test LED module: If possible, test the LED with a suitable low-voltage DC source or replace it with a known-good EdgeStar-compatible LED module.
- Check wiring to control board: Ensure the harness from the light to the board is intact and properly connected.
- Replace faulty component: Replace the LED module, door switch/reed sensor, or main control board depending on which tests defective.
Note: LED modules are not usually repairable at component level; replace the entire assembly.
