Possible Causes
Spilled wine or liquids not cleaned, Prolonged power-off with door closed, Clogged drain holding stagnant water, Mold growth on gaskets or liners
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning. Use gloves and adequate ventilation when using cleaning agents.
Steps:
- Empty the cabinet: Remove all bottles and shelves.
- Clean interior surfaces: Wash with a solution of mild detergent and warm water, followed by a mixture of baking soda and water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
- Clean drain and pan: Clear the condensate drain and clean the drain pan to remove stagnant water and residue.
- Inspect and clean gasket: Wipe the door gasket folds with a mild bleach solution (if compatible with materials) or a commercial mildew remover, then rinse.
- Air out the unit: Leave the door open for several hours to fully dry and ventilate before restocking.
Tip: Avoid using strong perfumed cleaners that can transfer odors to wine corks over time.
