Possible Causes

Wine cooler not level, Loose compressor mounting bolts, Vibrating copper refrigerant lines touching cabinet, Loose interior fan or fan shroud

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before reaching behind or underneath. Be cautious of sharp metal edges.

Steps:

  • Level the unit: Use a bubble level and adjust the front leveling legs so the cooler is stable and does not rock.
  • Check for external vibrations: Ensure the cooler is not touching cabinets, walls, or other appliances that can amplify noise.
  • Inspect compressor mounts: Remove the rear lower panel and verify that the compressor mounting bolts or rubber grommets are intact and snug (not overtightened).
  • Secure refrigerant lines: Look for copper lines that are touching each other or the cabinet. Gently bend them apart slightly and add foam or rubber spacers to prevent contact.
  • Check interior fan: Remove the interior rear panel and ensure the fan blade is tight on the motor shaft and not hitting the shroud. Tighten or reposition as needed.

Note: Some compressor hum is normal, but loud rattling or metal-on-metal sounds should be corrected promptly to prevent damage.
