Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain tube, Disconnected drain hose, Excessive door gasket leakage causing condensation, Unit not level causing water to overflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing interior panels. Wipe up water promptly to avoid slipping.
Steps:
- Level the unit: Ensure the cooler is slightly tilted back so water flows toward the rear drain.
- Locate the drain: Inside the cabinet, find the small drain hole or channel at the rear bottom. Check for debris, mold, or ice blocking it.
- Clear the drain: Use a small flexible brush, pipe cleaner, or compressed air to clear the drain hole and tube.
- Check external drain hose and pan: At the rear, verify the drain hose is connected and routed to the condensate pan above the compressor. Ensure the pan is not cracked or overflowing.
- Inspect door gasket: A poor seal can cause excessive condensation. Replace the gasket if it is torn or warped.
Note: After clearing the drain, pour a small amount of water into the interior drain to confirm it flows to the pan.
