How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before touching the compressor or electrical components.
- Check ventilation: Ensure adequate clearance around the unit and clean the condenser coil to reduce compressor load.
- Inspect start relay/overload: Remove the start device from the compressor and check for burn marks or rattling. Replace with a GE‑approved start relay/overload if suspect.
- Allow cooling: If the compressor is extremely hot, let it cool for 30–60 minutes before restarting.
- Monitor operation: After replacing the start device, plug in and observe. If the compressor still fails to start and clicks off, the compressor may be failing and requires professional replacement.
