Possible Causes

Door left open or not sealing, Recent power outage or warm loading, Failed evaporator fan motor, Refrigerant leak or weak compressor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: No internal electrical work is required for basic checks, but unplug the unit if you remove panels.

  • Check door seal: Ensure the door is fully closing and the gasket is not torn or warped. Look for racks or bottles preventing full closure.
  • Allow recovery time: If the door was open or the unit was recently loaded with warm bottles, allow 12–24 hours for temperature to recover. The H1 alarm may clear automatically.
  • Verify fan operation: Open the door briefly and listen for the evaporator fan running when the compressor is on. If you do not hear airflow, the fan motor may have failed or be iced over.
  • Inspect for frost buildup: Heavy frost on the evaporator cover can block airflow. Defrost the unit by unplugging it and leaving the door open for several hours, protecting the floor from water. If frost returns quickly, a defrost system issue may exist.
  • Persistent warm temps: If the unit remains warm despite a sealed door and running fans, a sealed system problem (refrigerant leak or weak compressor) is likely. Contact a qualified refrigeration technician.
