Possible Causes
Incorrect temperature setting, Failed thermistor reading too warm, Stuck compressor relay on control board, Door gasket leaking causing overcooling attempts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Use caution when handling glass bottles that may be very cold or frosted.
- Check setpoint: Verify the temperature setting is appropriate for wine storage (typically 45–55°F for whites, 55–65°F for reds). Adjust upward if set too low.
- Power reset: Unplug the unit for 5 minutes, then restore power to clear any temporary control glitches.
- Inspect door gasket: Ensure the gasket is sealing evenly. A leaking gasket can cause the unit to run excessively, sometimes overshooting temperature.
- Sensor check: If the unit continues to run until very cold, the cabinet thermistor may be reading incorrectly. Test and replace the thermistor as described for E1.
- Control board: If the compressor runs continuously even when the set temperature is reached and the thermistor is good, the compressor relay on the main control board may be stuck closed. Replace the board.
