Possible Causes
Stuck or misaligned door switch, Door not closing fully, Shorted light relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working on the light or switch.
- Check door closure: Ensure nothing is blocking the door and that the gasket is making full contact.
- Inspect door switch: Verify the plunger switch is fully depressed when the door closes. Adjust or replace if it sticks.
- Magnetic switch models: If your unit uses a magnetic reed switch, ensure the door magnet is still in place and aligned. Replace the magnet or switch if missing or defective.
- Control board: If the light remains on with the switch disconnected, the control board’s light relay may be stuck and the board will need replacement.
