Possible Causes
Clogged defrost drain tube, Disconnected drain hose, Cracked drain pan, Excessive condensation from door gasket leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing panels. Mop up any standing water to prevent slipping.
- Locate drain: Inside the cabinet, look for a small drain hole or channel at the rear near the bottom or under the evaporator cover.
- Clear blockage: Use a small flexible brush or pipe cleaner to gently clear debris from the drain hole. Flush with warm water using a turkey baster or syringe.
- Check rear drain tube: Remove the rear panel and locate the drain tube leading to the external drain pan. Ensure it is properly attached and not kinked or blocked.
- Inspect drain pan: Verify the drain pan above the compressor is not cracked or overflowing. Clean any sludge or mold buildup.
- Door gasket: If condensation is excessive, inspect and replace a leaking door gasket to reduce moisture entry.
