Possible Causes
Age-related rubber hardening, Chemical damage from harsh cleaners, Mechanical damage from bottles or shelves, Mold growth due to condensation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working on the door.
- Remove old gasket: Gently pull the gasket out of its retaining groove around the door. Some models use screws under the inner liner; remove them if necessary.
- Clean groove: Wipe the gasket channel with a mild detergent solution and dry thoroughly.
- Install new gasket: Press the new Gorenje-compatible gasket firmly into the groove, ensuring it is fully seated at corners.
- Shape and seal: Close the door and check for gaps. Warm the gasket gently with a hair dryer (low setting) and massage it to improve sealing.
