Possible Causes
Normal automatic defrost cycle active, Control board stuck in defrost due to sensor error, Defective defrost timer logic on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No immediate disassembly is required unless the unit remains warm for many hours.
- Observe duration: A normal defrost cycle may last 15–30 minutes. During this time, the compressor and fan may stop and a dF code may appear.
- Check temperature: If the cabinet returns to normal temperature after an hour, no repair is needed.
- Persistent dF: If dF remains on the display for several hours and the unit does not cool, follow the steps under the E4 defrost fault (check defrost sensor and heater) and inspect the PCB.
- Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then reconnect. If dF appears immediately and cooling never starts, the control board may be faulty and require replacement.
