Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between control panel and main PCB, Damaged touch keypad or capacitive sensor board, Moisture ingress into control panel, Faulty main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before removing the control panel or top trim. Avoid static discharge to electronic boards.
- Access control panel: Remove the top or front trim screws and gently pull the control panel assembly forward.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Check the flat cable between the display/keypad and the main PCB. Ensure it is fully seated and not kinked or damaged. Reseat both ends.
- Check for moisture: Look for condensation or liquid traces inside the panel. Dry carefully with a lint-free cloth and allow time for complete drying.
- Visual inspection of PCB: Examine for burnt components, corrosion, or cracked solder joints. If present, the board should be replaced.
- Test keypad: With the unit reassembled and powered, test each button or touch area. If some keys do not respond and wiring is good, replace the control panel/keypad assembly.
- Replace main PCB if needed: If E7 persists despite a known-good keypad and cable, the main PCB is likely defective and should be replaced with a Gorenje-specific board.
