Possible Causes
Failed low-voltage power supply on PCB, Burnt relay contacts for compressor, Damaged PCB due to surge or moisture, Loose mains connections at PCB terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance. The main PCB carries mains voltage; only work on it if you are competent with electrical safety.
- Access main PCB: Remove the rear service panel or lower front panel (depending on model) to expose the control board enclosure.
- Inspect wiring: Check that all spade connectors and terminal blocks are tight and correctly seated. Look for signs of overheating or melted insulation.
- Visual PCB inspection: Look for burnt areas, bulging capacitors, or cracked solder joints, especially around the compressor relay.
- Check fuses: Some boards include a small glass or thermal fuse. Test for continuity and replace only with the same rating if blown.
- Test output to compressor and fan: With extreme caution and only if qualified, power the unit and measure whether the PCB is sending voltage to the compressor and fans when cooling is demanded. If not, and sensors are known good, the PCB is likely faulty.
- Replace PCB: Label all connectors, remove the faulty board, and install a new Gorenje-compatible main control board. Transfer any jumpers or configuration plugs as required.
- Test: Restore power and verify that E8 is cleared and normal cooling resumes.
